Tea Building

Our works comprised of removing 50+nr 1930s doors in communal areas across the 10-storey building and replacing them with fire rated doors with stainless steel ironmongery. The doorset scope was designed, manufactured and installed by Blou Dynamic, certified under our FIRAS Certified Installer Scheme.

Our scope featured designing fire rated doorsets to match existing heritage doors, this involved deep research into fire testing data to ensure the new doorsets achieved the design intent, whilst being fully certified as fire rated.

As the building was live throughout the programme, our works had to be planned around strict access restrictions to ensure the numerous companies based in the building could continue their operations undisrupted, this led to many of the doors being removed and replaced during night shifts.

This project was our first completed for The Thornton Partnership.
