Progress: Holland Park Joinery Refurbishment

Part of Blou Dynamic’s scope on a Private Residential Development in London’s Holland Park area is the extensive refurbishment of existing joinery throughout all floors of the stunning Mansion house. The building is Grade II Listed, therefore, a key design requirement is to refurbish and reuse existing building fabric where possible and to manufacture new joinery elements to match existing materials, sizes and profiles so it can be seamlessly fitted alongside existing.

Blou Dynamic’s approach involved firstly conducting a condition survey of all existing removed and in-situ joinery such as skirtings, dado rails, picture rails, architraves and the like, plus joinery features such as window surrounds and architraves to arched fanlights in corridors. Once complete, a comprehensive report was prepared outlining proposed refitting of existing joinery, proposed refurbishment works, comprising of splicing/patching existing in-situ joinery using similar hardwood species and proposed manufacture of new joinery to match existing.

The refurbishment approach/scope was then agreed with Size Group, new joinery elements were manufactured at the Blou Dynamic Joinery Factory in Kent using bespoke cutters to match various profiles found on site.

Works commenced in February 2024 and we expect to complete in July 2024; see below progress photos.

This type of work is carried out by Blou Dynamic on many projects. Whilst it is highly intricate, our skilled and experienced teams - on site and based at our Joinery Factory - are well equipped to undertake and complete to the highest quality standards.
