Complete: Maggie’s at the Royal Free

Blou Dynamic is pleased to announce Maggie’s at the Royal Free is complete!

The project was unique in every sense of the word, from the building’s design to the purpose of the finished build.

The new Maggie’s centre will provide a haven for people diagnosed with cancer, a place for them to enjoy as if it was their own home and receive support from all the wonderful Maggie’s staff. We urge people to research Maggie’s, as the work they do across the UK is extraordinary.

The project witnessed Blou Dynamic work with Sir Robert McAlpine, Magma Architecture (Berlin), Studio Libeskind (New York) and Expedition Engineering to deliver a carpentry and joinery scope featuring structural carpentry work to form the curved Wintergarden space on the 2nd floor, forming staircases, Oak-veneered timber doorsets, Oak flooring and Oak-veneered and solid Oak joinery throughout the building, including a stunning curved kitchen and island unit, which will be the ‘beating heart’ of the centre.

Our Project Manager, Brad Baynham, said “it has been an honour to be involved in the project, I am proud of my team, our designers based in our London office, our joiners in our factory in Kent and our team on site, it has truly been a team effort.”

“Thank you all for your hard work. I hope you’ll be proud of what you’ve achieved and what it will mean to a lot of people.” - Siobhan Wyatt, Director of Property for Maggie’s.

Our photographer will be visiting soon, in the meantime browse the below to see some of our work.
